about
Growing up a country kid meant that moving to the city as an adult left me extremely bored. With no formal sewing or design education I took the basic sewing skills Mom taught at the kitchen table to create joyful purses and totes with bold pattern and natural textures.
I am very driven to locally source almost exclusively from the Pacific Northwest and USA such as Perfect Fit, Oregon Leather, Pendleton Woolen Mills, local hardware and fabric stores. All materials are carefully selected to ensure quality and lasting durability. I intentionally celebrate and champion the abundant characteristics of the fabric, like waxed canvas that creates a worn patina over time, similar to leather. These original features make for an exuberant and independent product that is truly distinctive.
Honoring your individual style is designed into every element with the highest standards meaning cheap materials and labor will never be used. I make sure you receive only the highest quality of fabrics and hardware. Corners will never be cut to ensure the integrity of each item produced. I offer you hometown craftsmanship and local manufacturing right here in Portland, Oregon with my two little hands doing all the work.
After collecting the materials, everything is laid out on a barn wood table in my NE Portland home studio with a focus on texture, pattern and durability. With a cup of tea in hand, I analyze and re-organize the materials to produce a comforting collection of handcrafted goods for each season. After the designs are cut and assembled, zippers are hand-placed and sewn in, and each pillow is stuffed to perfection. Naturally, it takes extra time to make sure each piece is thoughtfully made and that all details are inspected by hand. Because we both know that long lasting relationships require hard work, a little extra time and a good sense of humor.
