Sustainable Fall Fun with Eco-Friendly Canvas Bags from Land & Kamp
The mornings are crisp and the afternoons creep their way to the upper 70s (F), which means fall is here! U-pick farms provide great opportunities to get outside with friends and family, enjoy the outdoors, and make memories. Saturday morning, I woke up early, packed my weekender (I call it my go-bag) with some snacks, a water bottle, a picnic blanket, and a jacket, then headed out to Riamede Farms (Chester, NJ) to get my hands on some freshly picked apples.
Apple Picking with a Sustainable Twist
One of my favorite treats this season is apple butter, so I’m excited to get a basket I can pile high to freeze some away for the winter. According to the farm schedule, the apple varieties available to pick included Macoun, Cortland, Gala, and I got a few of the remaining Ginger Golds. The crossbody played dual roles, holding my personal items and some handfuls of apples to carry back to the wagon.
Fall Fun Beyond Apples
I was lucky enough to also take advantage of the tomatoes and pumpkins! My grandpa always grew a garden, and it’s a core memory to pick handfuls of these bright and sweet summer fruits. Halloween is right around the corner, so I made sure to grab some pumpkins to add to my minimal-effort fall décor.
Don't Forget the Treats!
Don’t forget to grab the unique drinks and snacks at the tents and cafes- the cider donuts are hugely popular, but my gluten-free self opted for the apple cider float, which did not disappoint. The farm store also included pre-made jams, jellies, sauces, meals, and even their farm-brand canned sparkling cider. On the way home, I stopped to run errands and didn't have to worry about my bag looking out of place. The L&K bags are so versatile for any occasion; a simple wipe-down of the bottom, and it was city-ready.
