spring collection patterns revealed

The best part of late Winter is getting excited about colors other than red and green combinations. Everyone is exhausted and the tempo of the holidays is over Time around the home is more relaxed. In honor of the chillest winter month, I sewed up a little collection for a burst of color with the Spring Collection.

Coral Floral

The cheery state of these florals feel very sturdy to me. Much like the flowers that exist in the late summer heat. Thinking roses, zinnias, cosmos, dahlias.

These mustardy florals are so retro fabulous. Like your cute grandma’s kitchen wallpaper. I’m obsessed with this pattern.

Dakota Prairies

This pattern feels very feminine to me but with substance like you could pick out the strands of flowers and turn them into garland around your home. The artists is, Marlena Myles, who is a professional Native American artist, designer and children's book illustrator located in St. Paul, Minnesota. I feel honored to have discovered her beautiful work through Spoonflower.

Nature Trail

This pattern feels really special to me. It’s the welcoming of baby birds for the Spring and all the secret treasures the woods offer in the silence of their canopy. Dropped acorns from previous Autumn and tiny little mushrooms adding spongy texture to the forest floor. The colors are just so lovely and moody for Spring.

This will be a very small collection of eco friendly tote bags. As we get closer to the end of the summer the sewing done here in Portland starts to shift towards darker patterns for the sustainable totes and the Pendleton wool purses that I make by hand. So, now is the time if you’re looking for cute detailing in of of these canvas handbags.
